Harrigan Residence
by Jackson B. Hallett AIA, 1963
4416 Andre Street, Midland, MI
Designed by Jackson B. Hallett AIA, with project architect Jack Saro in 1963. Built by Bartos Builders.
The home was built for Dr. and Mrs. William Harrigan. Mrs. Harrigan (JoAnne) was a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright’s work, so she asked Mr. Hallett to incorporate as many of Mr. Wright’s elements as he could. Some of the unique features of the home include a built in toaster and blender in the kitchen. Also, since Dr. Harrigan was an OB/GYN who could receive calls at all hours of the day or night, there is a landline built into the built-in headboard in the master bedroom.
