1904-1965
Carl G. Schulwitz was born in 1904 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan and earned his architecture degree from the University of Michigan in 1930. After living in Midland for a few years, he moved to Saginaw to open his architectural firm. In 1945, he purchased Nurmi Builders and led a team of five architects focused on the integration of residential design and construction. Schulwitz designed 14 homes in Midland, and scores more in Bay City and Saginaw.
